Array type vertical-axis wind turbine performance breakthrough

The history of Wind Harvest International (WHI), headquartered in California, dates back to the mid 1970’s when its founder Bob Thomas commenced pioneering work with Darrieus-type vertical axis wind turbines. This January WHI announced plans to commercially enter the wind market in 2011 with what is claimed to be the world’s first cost-effective solution for harvesting high energy, turbulent near-ground winds.

"Can This Egg Beater Double the Power Output of Wind Farms?"

There are a lot of extra acres on wind farms.  That, in part, is the idea behind Wind Harvest International, which says it can double to power output of large wind farms by strategically placing its vertical wind turbines between the large, multi-megawatt horizontal turbines that stand in them now.  Read more...
