Wind Speeds

WHI Google Earth Handbook

Matthew Wylder and Kevin Wolf, April, 2017

In order to minimize time and costs for international prospecting of project sites for its G168 VAWTs, WHI encourages the use of Google Earth along with a combination of other tools that provide wind speeds and property boundary information that is available with a public license and usable on Google Earth. This handbook is a guide to show how to use the Google Earth tools, present the resulting information, and create annotations, with an emphasis on knowing how to represent VAWT arrays.
