Turbine Controls Build from Model 2.0’s Success

Electrical engineer extraordinaire Mark Chang is heading down to Texas on October 22 to conduct the turbine’s final check-off and begin its testing. He brings with him the knowledge he gained when developing, installing, and operating the controls for our Wind Harvester Model 2.0 that passed through Technology Readiness Level 5 on an island off the coast of Finland in 2012-13. The Model 2.0 controls, and the firmware programmed by Jody Ono, worked flawlessly (see this video for a sample).  Needless to say, we are pleased that they both returned to work on the controls and electrical systems for Model 3.1 and 4.0, building on what they had learned from their earlier work with us.

Wind Harvest International, Inc. is a California-based renewable energy technology company, founded in 2006. The company makes, sells, and develops projects for its Wind Harvester brand of H-type turbines, the only known product designed to harvest the highly energetic, turbulent wind that blows 15-80 feet above the ground. Wind Harvest’s wholly-owned financial subsidiary Wind Harvest Pilot Project Inc. raises funds and loans it to the parent company.
