An article published in Forbes business magazine on June 20th, 2025 spotlights Wind Harvest and its Wind Harvester 4.0, which the company believes will be the first commercially viable vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT). In an interview with Forbes writer Llewellyn King, Wind Harvest CEO Kevin Wolf discusses his company’s vision to make harvesting turbulent, low-altitude wind feasible, an idea which engineers have been toying with since the 1970s, but which was perceived as impractical due to apparent design limitations of VAWTs.

“They used code from the Department of Energy’s Sandia National Laboratory to engineer and evaluate their designs. They believe they have eliminated known weaknesses in vertical turbines and have a durable and easy-to-make design, which they call Wind Harvester 4.0,” King writes, paraphrasing Wolf.

This article comes right before Wind Harvest launches its next major crowdfunding effort, making it an opportune time to snag the attention of business-savvy readers in the US and beyond, and stoke excitement about the emerging turbulent wind market. Read the full article here.
