St Croix Update – Leatherback Brewery Met Mast
We have solid progress to report from St. Croix. The Leatherback Brewery there is set to install a 50-foot meteorological mast Wind Harvest provided them so wind-speed data collection can begin. We are exploring the potential for this to become a 2-turbine or an 8-turbine project that could supply the brewery or potentially the broader industrial park with electricity, which presently pays >$0.40/kWh. The island’s high electricity costs—combined with solid trade winds and 40% Investment Tax Credits available for new renewable energy projects in the US—help improve the economics of smaller projects like this one. If all goes well, the project is expected to be installed in late 2026 or early 2027.
