Model 4.0 Drive Shaft and Bearing Housings Have Been Ordered

The Era of our Model 4.0 has begun! With the data gathered from our Model 3.1, we are officially able to move onward to start Technology Readiness Level 8 full certification. Before that, however, we must source our materials for the new model and begin manufacturing the components.

We are pleased to announce that the two drive shafts we ordered from ScotForge in Illinois have been rough forged. They will soon be on their way to TechMax, an hour away for precise machining. Tech Max is also making the bearing housings and will install the three SKF bearings to the shaft before shipping the final products to Wind Harvest. The lead time for these parts is six months, so we are on a timeline for delivery before the end of the year.

Wind Harvest International, Inc. is a California-based renewable energy technology company, founded in 2006. The company makes, sells, and develops projects for its Wind Harvester brand of H-type turbines, the only known product designed to harvest the highly energetic, turbulent wind that blows 15-80 feet above the ground. Wind Harvest’s wholly-owned financial subsidiary Wind Harvest Pilot Project Inc. raises funds and loans it to the parent company.
