How Long Will a Wind Harvester Turbine Last?
Wind Harvest’s vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) are built to last in tough conditions. In this Q&A clip, CEO Kevin Wolf discusses the fatigue life of Wind Harvesters and what it means for generating affordable renewable energy. These robust turbines are designed to operate in class 2 winds: 90 mile an hour winds for up to 10 minutes, or even brief gusts of up to 155 miles per hour. Modeling predicts that even in such strong winds, Wind Harvesters will last over 70 years! This means that wind farm owners with Wind Harvesters on their properties can expect their costs to produce clean energy to keep dropping for decades after the turbines are installed.

Wind Harvest International, Inc. is a California-based renewable energy technology company, founded in 2006. The company makes, sells, and develops projects for its Wind Harvester brand of H-type turbines, the only known product designed to harvest the highly energetic, turbulent wind that blows 15-80 feet above the ground. Wind Harvest’s wholly-owned financial subsidiary Wind Harvest Pilot Project Inc. raises funds and loans it to the parent company.
