Soga Generator Arrives. Yay!
With the tremendous help of Soga Energy in Italy, our generator has arrived. This generator replaced one that was supposed to have arrived this past spring from another supplier. It is now onsite at the testing facility in Texas! Yay again!
We won’t bore you with our many issues with the first supplier. Manufacturing and shipping delays have been a worldwide problem caused by COVID, tariffs, booming renewable energy demand, and more. Those issues are behind us now, and we can look forward to finalizing the installation and commissioning of our Model 3.1 Wind Harvester over the next few weeks!
FYI, this Soga 65kW generator is designed for horizontal wind turbines. For our vertically aligned drive shaft, it needs to be turned on its side. The key was using its existing lifting bolt holes to secure the generator to the new support brackets engineered by Antonio Ojeda and Jeff Willis. These brackets also bolt to the generator platform near the foundation. Full engineering analysis was performed to ensure the mounting structure could handle all required loads with a proper safety margin.

Wind Harvest International, Inc. is a California-based renewable energy technology company, founded in 2006. The company makes, sells, and develops projects for its Wind Harvester brand of H-type turbines, the only known product designed to harvest the highly energetic, turbulent wind that blows 15-80 feet above the ground. Wind Harvest’s wholly-owned financial subsidiary Wind Harvest Pilot Project Inc. raises funds and loans it to the parent company.
