Control Panels Arrive from Pennsylvania
Dan Clunies with Windurance drove our Model 3.1 control panels from PA to TX to make sure they arrived safely.
The resistor brake, which helps control the turbine speed and produces heat when engaged, is in the first enclosure with the slotted vent holes. The vents serve to dissipate the heat.
The next enclosure holds the ABB drive that controls torque resistance and keeps the generator at the most efficient RPM to wind speed ratio.
The last enclosure includes all the other control-related components. These control panel enclosures will all be placed next to our Model 3.1 turbine. In Model 4.0, we plan to place most of these components inside the enclosed and much taller tower, eliminating the need for separate enclosures and reducing cost.

Wind Harvest International, Inc. is a California-based renewable energy technology company, founded in 2006. The company makes, sells, and develops projects for its Wind Harvester brand of H-type turbines, the only known product designed to harvest the highly energetic, turbulent wind that blows 15-80 feet above the ground. Wind Harvest’s wholly-owned financial subsidiary Wind Harvest Pilot Project Inc. raises funds and loans it to the parent company.
