Power Performance Data Collection Nearing Completion
Power Performance Data Collection Nearing Completion
In this video, our intern from West Texas A&M, engineering student Omar Garcia, narrates a test where the generator maintains the turbine at a steady 40 RPM while collecting electrical output and strain gauge data in different wind speeds. This has been somewhat of a challenge since the near-ground wind is gusty and constantly changing. But, turbulent conditions are what the Wind Harvester has been built to handle.
Defensible data and analysis give confidence in Model 4.0’s Annual Energy Production predictions in differing wind resources. Our team has collected enough “wind bin speed” data to provide a field-validated power performance curve. We anticipate publishing that curve as soon as Dr. Malcolm and the rest of the team have confirmed its accuracy and reliability. This will be a historic milestone for turbines.

Wind Harvest International, Inc. is a California-based renewable energy technology company, founded in 2006. The company makes, sells, and develops projects for its Wind Harvester brand of H-type turbines, the only known product designed to harvest the highly energetic, turbulent wind that blows 15-80 feet above the ground. Wind Harvest’s wholly-owned financial subsidiary Wind Harvest Pilot Project Inc. raises funds and loans it to the parent company.
